In order to use Stickies in another language, download one of the files below. Each zip file contains a single file called language100.dll. Put this into the same directory as stickies.exe (probably c:Program Files (x86)stickies), and restart Stickies for all the menus, messages and dialogs to be translated to that language. 1)Open the Windows 10 Store app. Type Sticky Notes in the search box and then click the Microsoft Sticky Notes app from the result. 2) Click the Get button. It will begin to download and install the latest version of Sticky Notes app on your computer.

Stickies is freeware. You may use this software on any number of computers for as long as you like, and you don’t have to pay a penny. There are no crippled features for registered users only, no time delays and no stupid nag screens.

All that said, Stickies is not public domain software. I allow the free distribution of the software, but I retain ownership and copyright of the software and its source code in its entirety.

You may use and/or distribute this software only subject to the following conditions:

• You may not modify the program or documentation files in any way.
• You may not sell the software or charge a distribution fee, except to recover the media costs.

Compatibility

Stickies runs on Windows 7, 8 and 10. Earlier versions of Windows are no longer supported. For those OS, try an older version of Stickies.

Upgrading

If you're upgrading from v8 or v9 of Stickies, all you need to do is close Stickies down, and run the setup program above. All your notes and settings are automatically imported by the later version. If you're running v7 or earlier, first upgrade to v9.0e, and then to v10.

Note that when v10 first runs, your earlier data file format will be saved to the v10 format, and then the v9 data files renamed (appended with .converted) rather than deleted. There is no conversion route from v10 data back to v9 data.

(A note about translations - it is possible to create a translated DLL yourself using third party tools. However - please don't start translation work without checking in first. Someone else might already be doing the work for your language, and translations in DLLs can't be used for future versions. Working with the Stickies translation tool means the work you help with can be re-used in the future.)

Microsoft Sticky Notes is a desktop organizational tool that syncs with your other devices. You can create several notes in a range of colors, and choose which ones are on display to prevent clutter.

This program keeps what you need where you need it in a simple and appealing way.

This is more than just a straightforward notes tool. The application integrates with Cortana, the Windows assistant, so that if you type in a date and time, you can click it to turn it into a reminder. Your notes can be organized by color, and you can format them with bullet points, bold text and other features.

You’ll find it easy to organize your notes using the hub, which allows you to control which notes are on display and to search for a particular item. As well as linking up with Cortana, the application has several other intelligent features. When you type a street address, you can click to view it in maps. Flight numbers will connect to the flight details, and web addresses become hyperlinks that you can click on. It makes you more productive and improves access to the information you need.

If you used a previous version of the Sticky Notes app, your saved notes won’t automatically sync to this application. There might be a workaround, but it isn’t straightforward and you could lose some files.

The Sticky Notes app from Microsoft brings lots of useful features in a simple format. You can prevent desktop clutter to keep everything looking clean. What really stands out, though, are the integrations with Cortana, maps, and links; you can do a lot and do it faster.
